Where ductless mini-splits work best
Ductless heat pumps solve problems that ducted systems can’t easily reach:
- Homes with no ductwork, or no practical place to run it.
- Additions, ADUs, garages and converted spaces that the main system doesn’t serve.
- Rooms that never get comfortable — a hot upstairs bedroom or a cold sunroom.

What a ductless installation includes
Every layout is planned around the rooms you want to condition. A typical installation covers:
- Outdoor unit placed for airflow, service access and a tidy line run
- Indoor heads — wall, ceiling or floor style — placed for even comfort
- Refrigerant lines, wiring and drain run as neatly as the house allows
- Line-set covers outside where the lines are visible
- Electrical circuit and disconnect for the outdoor unit
- Start-up, operating check and a walk-through of the remote or controls

How many indoor units will I need?
It depends on the layout and how many rooms or zones you want to control. Open areas can sometimes share one head; separate rooms usually need their own. We plan it with you on site.
Will the indoor units be noticeable?
Indoor heads are visible, but there are several styles — wall, ceiling cassette and floor — and placement makes a big difference. We’ll talk through the options in your rooms.
Can a ductless system heat my whole house?
In many homes it can, especially with the right number of indoor units. In others, it works best alongside an existing system. We’ll tell you which applies.
