Signs your furnace needs repair
Some problems are a quick fix. Others are a sign the furnace is near the end of its life.
- No heat, or not enough. The furnace is not working at all, or it runs but rooms stay cold.
- It cycles on and off constantly, or runs for long stretches without reaching the set temperature.
- New noises — banging, rattling, squealing or a loud rumble when the burners light.
- The pilot or burner flame looks yellow or flickers instead of burning steady and blue.
- Heating bills keep rising without any change in how you use the house.
- Repairs are adding up on an older furnace, and you’re weighing whether to keep paying for them.
What a furnace replacement includes
Every replacement is scoped to the house. A typical furnace replacement covers:
- Removal and disposal of the old furnace
- New furnace matched to the home and the existing or updated ductwork
- Gas, venting and electrical connections made to current requirements
- Supply and return connections sealed at the furnace
- Condensate drain for high-efficiency furnaces
- Thermostat connected, or upgraded where needed
- Start-up and a full operating check before we leave
Your written estimate lists exactly what your project includes.

Furnace repair and installation questions
Can you repair my furnace, or does it need to be replaced?
We diagnose the problem first. If a repair makes sense, we’ll tell you. If the furnace is older and the repair is significant, you’ll get written options for both so you can decide.
How much does furnace replacement cost?
It depends on the furnace type and efficiency, its location in the house, the condition of the venting and ductwork, and what the job involves. After we see the house, you get written options with clear pricing.
Do you work on all furnace brands?
Yes. We service and install all major brands.
Should I replace my furnace with a heat pump instead?
It’s worth comparing. A heat pump heats and cools with one system, so it can make sense if your air conditioner is also aging. We’ll walk you through both options.
What warranty comes with a new furnace?
10-year parts warranty and up to 10-year labor warranty on the majority of equipment we install.
